Mission Statement:

For the Love of Standardbreds facilitates the placement of Standardbred ex-racehorses in second careers by increasing demand for them in equestrian sports, and assisting the farms, trainers, and organizations that desire to transition them to an alternative lifestyle.

Our Vision:

For the Love of Standardbreds, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, strives to provide retired Standardbred racehorses both meaningful new careers and an excellent quality of life, avoiding those common paths which lead many horses to unwanted situations. We provide an outlet for the horse, an athlete at birth, to train for a new discipline once its racing career has ended. Our organization seeks to directly navigate standardbred horses from the racetrack to an alternative life with new purpose and opportunities. We rehabilitate Standardbreds by providing professional care and training for each individual horse. An extensive screening process attempts to match eachStandardbred with loving adopters with the goal of a new beginning in the show ring, therapeutic riding programs, or simply as a loving companion.
